Bukit Batu Putih is located in an area of Port Dickson know as Tanjung Tuan. Although it's physically in the district of Port Dickson, the administration of Tanjung Tuan comes under Malacca, for historical reasons. It was the Portuguese, controlling Malacca from 1511 to 1641, who built the lighthouse at Tanjung Tuan.

Batu Putih literary means "white rock" in the Malay language. In fact, it's a steep cliff, which is roughly about 150 metres from the base to the summit. The alluring natural beauty of this attraction is the climb up the bare limestone path, surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna.

In the weekends, Batu Putih is an irresistible magnet for people from near and far. Some find the climb adventurous and challenging, whereas others are more interested in capturing images of the wild lives, exquisite rock formations, whirlpools, secluded sandy beaches and panoramic views.

The climb up the bare limestone cliff appears daunting at first glance. It seems very steep and forbidding. However, there are many dents and protrusions, where climbers could place their feet and hands. In the early hours of the morning, the rays of the sun literally pierces through the gaps in the canopy of the trees. It is quite common to see monkeys trooping on the tree branches, following their leader in search of food. Young monkeys cling on to the stomach of their mothers as a means of transport. Birds often tweet and sing in appreciation of a sunny day. Bees and other insects fly from flower to flower in search nectar, and in the process carrying out pollination, which is essential for fertilization and the formation of seeds. It is a natural system of symbiosis.

Unlike the experienced climbers, beginners naturally find the climb arduous. Some wil find certain stretches fearful and difficult. Others may have no idea where to place their foot, and it's not uncommon to find some being stranded in a difficult incline, not knowing, they ought to use their hands to pull and drag themselves up. Experience can only be attained via doing it.

Eventually, one reached the summit, either with ease or with certain amount of struggle. Reaching the summit is like a conquest and achievement. It provides a feeling of success and accomplishment and a sense of elation and exhilaration.

The view of the sea and the surroundings from the summit is simply breath taking, unique and incredible.
